Shuttlecock Price Outlook After China’s October Holiday: Why Our Factory Did Not Raise Most Prices
October 10, 2026 | Factory Market Update
Before China’s National Day holiday, we expected shuttlecock prices might increase when factories resumed production.
Today, our management team reviewed the latest material costs, production situation and market conditions.
The decision was different from what we originally expected.
Most of our shuttlecock prices will remain unchanged for now.
Only our Grade 1 blade-feather model with a three-piece cork base has received a small price adjustment.
This is a decision made by our own factory, not a statement about every shuttlecock manufacturer in China. However, it reflects an interesting situation in the market.
Raw material costs are showing different trends across grades, while buyers remain cautious about placing large orders.
So what does this mean for shuttlecock prices in the final quarter of 2026?

ToggleWhy Did We Expect a Price Increase?
There were reasonable grounds for expecting prices to rise after the holiday.
Some feather quotations had started recovering from earlier lows. Higher-grade shuttlecock feathers can also behave differently from ordinary materials because suitable feather length, curvature and shaft strength are more selective.
The holiday period creates another uncertainty. Production and trading activities slow temporarily, and factories need to reassess material availability when operations resume.
Under these circumstances, some price adjustments would not have been surprising.
But expectations and actual market conditions are two different things.
Why Did We Decide to Keep Most Prices Unchanged?
The biggest reason is that the finished shuttlecock market is still adjusting after the sharp price correction earlier this year.
During 2024 and 2025, shuttlecock prices increased rapidly. Many distributors and retailers purchased additional stock because they were worried about further increases.
The situation changed in 2026.
Major brands reduced prices, and buyers became more careful about inventory.
For factories, this creates a difficult balance.
Raw materials may become more expensive for certain models, but customers are not necessarily ready to accept higher finished-product prices.
Increasing every model simply because a few materials have become more expensive would not be a sensible decision.
That is why we reviewed different product grades separately rather than applying a general price increase.
Why Did Our Grade 1 Blade-Feather Model Increase Slightly?
Not all shuttlecocks have the same cost structure.
Higher-grade blade feathers require careful selection for feather quality, shaft strength, curvature and consistency.
A small cost change in these materials can have a greater effect on the finished product than a similar change in lower-priced feather grades.
Our Grade 1 blade-feather shuttlecock with a three-piece cork base received a slight price increase after the latest review.
Other models remain unchanged.
This does not necessarily mean that all premium shuttlecocks will become more expensive.
It means pricing needs to reflect the actual cost and market conditions of each product.
A factory should not raise every price simply because one material grade becomes more expensive.
Is the Shuttlecock Market Recovering?
We believe the market is moving toward a more selective pricing environment.
Earlier in 2026, falling feather costs and inventory pressure pushed finished shuttlecock prices downward.
Now some raw materials are showing signs of stabilization or recovery.
However, distributors still need time to sell their existing inventory.
These two trends can exist together.
Looking ahead to the final quarter of 2026, we see three possible developments.
1. Most shuttlecock prices remain relatively stable.
If distributors continue purchasing cautiously, factories may have limited room to increase prices.
2. Selected higher-grade models become slightly more expensive.
If particular feather grades become harder or more costly to source, those products may need individual price adjustments.
3. Competition continues to put pressure on standard models.
If finished-product inventories remain high, price competition may continue even when some raw material costs rise.
At present, we do not see enough evidence to conclude that the entire shuttlecock market is entering another major price increase cycle.
What Should OEM Shuttlecock Buyers Do Now?
For badminton brands, distributors and wholesale buyers, our advice is simple.
Do not make purchasing decisions based only on rumours that prices will rise after a holiday.
Ask your supplier for the latest quotation on the exact model you need.
A goose feather tournament shuttlecock, a duck feather training shuttlecock and a lower-priced club product can have very different material costs and price movements.
Buyers should also pay attention to inventory.
Buying too much simply because prices might increase can create problems if the market moves in the opposite direction.
For new OEM projects, we still recommend confirming samples, feather grade, cork structure, speed and packaging requirements before bulk production.
A stable product specification is more valuable than saving a small amount on one order and receiving inconsistent quality later.
Our View for the Rest of 2026
We are not in a hurry to raise prices.
We are also not prepared to sacrifice product quality simply to compete on price.
Our current approach is to monitor raw material costs, review individual product grades and adjust prices only when necessary.
For now, most of our shuttlecock models remain at their previous prices.
Only one Grade 1 blade-feather model with a three-piece cork base has been adjusted slightly.
We believe the next stage of the market will depend less on speculation and more on actual orders, raw material availability and inventory levels.
The most important thing is not predicting whether shuttlecock prices will rise or fall next month. It is maintaining a reliable balance between price, quality and supply.
For overseas OEM buyers, that is what a long-term manufacturing partner should focus on.
